Brits Love To Show Off Their Holiday Spending Habits

Many of us love to brag when we have got a bargain, while others talk money when we want to boast how much we have spent on something – and one area that Brits like to discuss their spending habits the most is on their holidays.

This is according to a report from TopCashback.com, which found that the vast majority of people love gossiping about what they pay for their trips abroad, the Mirror revealed.

Indeed, 75 per cent love boasting when they spend a lot on a luxury break, and 73 per cent show off when they get a great deal on their vacation.

Yet, 32 per cent feel embarrassed to admit it if they saved money on a holiday, wanting to appear more well off than they are.

TopCashback.co.uk’s UK director Adam Bullock said this open discussion about spending is good for Brits, as it can give people ideas of how they can get some good bargains themselves.

“Opening up about how we manage to get cheaper prices, where discounts come from, our best money saving tips, and how much we saved on an item, shouldn’t be frowned upon as it can help friends and family out too if they take note,” he stated.

This advice could be particularly important this winter, as 4.5 million Brits are planning to head to warmer climates to escape the cold weather in the UK, according to ABTA – The Travel Association. This accounts for 31 per cent of all UK holidaymakers planning a break this winter.
